Special Request features a dozen songs performed by multi-instrumentalist Leston Paul, an esteemed soca artist who first rose to prominence in the '80s. Paul either wrote or co-wrote most of the songs he performs on this album, including "We Go Take It So," "Ah Feelin," "The Executioner," and others. There are a few guest musicians who join Paul on Special Request: trombonists Clyde Mitchell and Ricky Clarke, trombonist Patrick Spicer, tenor sax player David Phillip, and several background vocalists.
