COMPILATION

Slightly lower in quality than the first and third volumes of the series, Stax Chartbusters, Vol. 4 features the Staple Singers' "I'll Take You There," Isaac Hayes' "Good Love," Eddie Floyd's "I've Never Found a Girl (To Love Me Like You Do)," Booker T. & the MG's' "Time Is Tight," and 14 other cuts released by Memphis' Stax and Volt labels from the late '50s through the mid-'70s. A few of the cuts here cannot truly be categorized as chart-busters, but the set is another enjoyable installment in the series, released in Europe through the Universal-affiliated Spectrum Music. ~ Andy Kellman
