The first release without longtime vocalist/guitarist David Escamilla, Crown the Empire's fourth album Sudden Sky carries on the band's hybrid blend of metalcore with pop-savvy electronic production. The compact ten-song set includes the experimental "March of the Ignorant," pounding single "MZRY," and "20/20," the first track recorded after Escamilla's departure. While some songs smooth out and cool down the outfit's typically aggressive attack, there's still plenty of hard-charging and pummeling material to please longtime fans. Upon release, Sudden Sky landed across five side charts and debuted just inside the Billboard 200.
