Reissued on CD with three extra selections, this set matched together for the first time
Wild Bill Davison and one of his top followers, fellow cornetist
Tom Saunders. With
Saunders' regular no-name Detroit-based group of the period giving
Davison support during the 1965 set, Wild Bill blasts out some of his typically heated solos. A few of the numbers are a bit off-the-wall ("Coney Island Washboard," "Old Cape Cod," "Long Gone John" and "Holy Roller") but the music is pure Dixieland. ~ Scott Yanow
