Originally this Ava set (reissued in 1987 by V.S.O.P.) was pianist
Pete Jolly's follow-up album to his surprisingly popular
Little Bird Lp. Assisted by bassist
Chuck Berghofer and drummer
Larry Bunker (two of the ten numbers have
Nick Martinis on drums and the addition of guitarist
Howard Roberts),
Jolly mostly performs melodic and easy-listening music, stretching out a bit on "Yours Is My Heart Alone," "There Is No Greater Love" and "Can't We Be Friends." Although trying to be commercial,
Jolly cannot help swinging and he sounds better in this format than many others trying to look for a repeat hit.
