Well this is different...a two-song EP recorded via long distance by a group of non-related musicians, and overseen by a mysterious character named Tomer Pink? Stranger things have happened in the world of rock & roll, but not so many that would make the resulting
Temporary Psychotic State any less unusual an enterprise. Compounded by the fact that the EP's two songs: the seven-minute title track and its ten-minute partner, "Observation Through Metamorphosis," offer a truly strange and eccentric blend of progressive and psychedelic rock, one could safely assume everyone has officially stepped through the looking glass here. Additionally spiced with electronic effects, string sections, spoken word recitals, death-grunts, and ghostly female vocals, the movements alternate moments of true beauty and inventiveness (particularly on the latter), with occasionally rambling and clumsy passages (the former). But the final results, imperfect though they may be, are as intriguing as the whole premise behind this group and worthy of experiment. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia
