COMPILATION

Certainly not the "Best of Basie," this LP is actually the best repertoire of the original band as played by his second orchestra. Unfortunately these charts do not suit this band that well and the original great soloists are missing, making this a pointless revival session. This was later reissued as half of The Count Basie Story.
