The first solo production of
Windsor for the Derby frontman Dan Metz has been thought to be part of a trilogy aimed at catching the sounds and moods of different moments of the day: dawn, afternoon, dusk. And just by looking at the title, one would guess that The Darkest Hour Is Just Before Dawn obviously focuses on daybreak. It is an ode to the crack of dawn, when nature and cities alike start to stir. Emotional and calm, simple to grasp, and yet so elaborated in its construction, this is the sound that results when post-rock creativity meets folk music. ~ Romain Guillou
