This Michigan group blends the smooth, lush vocals of cellist Allysa Massais and guitarist Andrew Prinz with pulsing, rhythmic percussive beats to create a colorful, textured and mature work that can only be in a sense dubbed rare musical genius. The lyrics of songwriting team Prinz and Massais feed off each other magically and with great melodic warmth, bringing to the listener the purest joy of harmony. Dynamics are certainly a large influence on this record, conveyed with strength and forwardness, to take the sound of the material to a more compelling stratosphere. The mixture of sound and words in this record from a production standpoint is high quality, and the playability is fine indeed.
