The Dubliners celebrate their 40th anniversary with a re-release of The Definitive Transatlantic Collection, which gathers 24 of the quintessential recordings the group cut for Transatlantic in the '60s. Culled from their appearances on the label's live albums and Celtic folk compilations, as well as their early full-length albums, this collection includes "The Rocky Road to Dublin," "The Banks of the Roses," "Boulavogue," and "Finnegan's Wake" among the mostly traditional material that they recorded at the time. A lively, authentic compilation, The Definitive Transatlantic Collection isn't quite as comprehensive as
The Transatlantic Anthology, but it is a solid retrospective of the Dubliners' early years. ~ Heather Phares
