Inf, the Dutch producer whose real name is Bas te Braak (not to be confused with the rap artist
I.N.F. or the Portuguese electronic artist
Pedro Inf), presents on his debut instrumental album
The Go Round a fairly typical set of danceable cues created out of samples and synthesized sounds. He is fond of spoken interjections and has hired two actors, Elizabeth Cobbe and José Villareal, to punctuate the proceedings with bits of dialogue that have the tone of ongoing bickering by a romantic couple. Most of the time, however, the music suggests a series of movies, albeit ones at least partially set in bars and discos, since the beat never lets up. Inf is restless and doesn't stick with any piece for long; three minutes is about the extent of his musical attention before he feels the need to jump to something else. For a listener, the effect is like walking through a large house in which different music is playing in every room. ~ William Ruhlmann
