ALBUM

Ian Simmonds' skill has been in his ability to fuse electronic with acoustic elements through a love of beats and texture. This album, under his Juryman moniker, has a whole slippery musical style of its own in which talented vocalists abound -- the lost linguistics of Allison Goldfrapp are ideally suited to the wandering instrumentation of "The Mornings," while poet Roger Robinson manages to capture the '90s' "lost it" zeitgeist within the snarling diatribe of "The Pilot." One of his best works, Simmonds again succeeds in creating an album unbound by time or genre.
