Since moving to Up Records and replacing a member from
Low with a member from
Godheadsilo,
Enemy Mine have taken more of a direct metal approach rather than trying to make their instruments sound like anything else rather than what they're suppose to.
The Ice in Me resembles their debut EP of heavy dual bass guitars and an obvious hats off to
The Melvins. But with little experimentation this time around, this album subtracts the distinctions between
Enemy Mine and any other
Sabbath-influenced hard rock act.
The Ice in Me remains to rocks out and is guaranteed to blow the glasses off of the average Up Records listener, if only the band would scrap the cheesy death metal logo. ~ Mike DaRonco
