Chinchilla's approach to metal is steeped in 80's traditions: dramatic, minor key guitar riffs, a commanding, Bruce Dickinson-esque vocal style and lyrics that describe world events using biblical terms like "demons" and "wise men." Airy keyboards heighten the drama and add a progressive/classical dimension to the music. Fans of tight, European flavored metal like Iron Maiden and Helloween will appreciate The Last Millennium. However, the band's version of Thin Lizzy's "The Boys Are Back in Town" not only completely misses the point of the original, it is entirely inappropriate in the context of this album -- it should have been left on the cutting room floor. ~ Andy Hinds
