Most of the Kurdish-Iranian
Kâmkâr family group are members in good standing of the Tehran classical music community. This recording of Kurdish songs is, therefore, mainstream Iranian-traditional rather than Kurdish in style. That said, this set from a 1995 Paris concert is an exhilarating experience, with the zip you'd expect from a bunch of young musicians, but no undue flash. ~ John Storm Roberts
