The nom de plume of Bay Area musician Mike Silverman, That 1 Guy specializes in quirky, half-rapped electro-funk akin to an oddball cross between Beck and the Canadian rapper Peaches. On his second album, THE MOON IS DISGUSTING, the overarching theme is food in its various forms--nearly half of the 11 songs mention foods in their titles--although like the similarly food-obsessed Cibo Matto, he's mostly using these fruits and vegetables for metaphorical purposes. Highlights include the title track and the wobbly funk of "Bananas."
