California’s Impending Doom are certainly one of the most extreme, using the gore-obsessed death metal sound of bands like Cannibal Corpse to create songs about faith and devotion. Their second album, THE SERPENT SERVANT, is pure deathcore, alternating rushing blast beats with crippling hardcore breakdowns and served up with fetid tomb-zombie vocals.
