The Song of Robbins presents
Robbins in the mold of the popular troubadour, featuring the most famous songs he was performing at the time. With three
Hank Williams covers and favorites by
Gene Autry and
Fred Rose, the record achieves a nice balance of pop and honky tonk that doesn't succumb to excess. Although he didn't have any lasting hits from this album,
Robbins is in typically strong voice and the mix of ballads and gentle rockers makes for pleasant listening.
