Previously responsible for the soundtrack to 1996's The Phantom, Academy Award-winning composer
David Newman returns to the comic book genre with this orchestral score for Frank Miller's adaptation of Will Eisner's cult superhero noir The Spirit. Combining 1940s jazz with
Morricone-esque spaghetti Western and traditional heroic music, the 18-track collection features a soprano piece from
Newman's daughter, Diana ("Lorelei -- Angel of Death"), but omits
