THE VISION AND REALITY is full of the kind of burly metal and emo-tinged melodic hardcore sure to appeal to fans of the genre. It's volatile stuff, with the often palm-muted guitars and vocalist Roman Dieguez's growl poised to explode at any moment. There's a good mix of styles here--"Horizons," with its double bass drum and chuggah-chuggah guitar onslaught skews metal, while "It's Never Been This Quiet" has the breathing room and dynamics of the Blood Brothers.
