There in the Shadows was the second and final release from this now defunct Washington, D.C. based band. Not to be confused with the death metal band Cathedral, this band features a melodic, pop-oriented progressive metal approach reminiscent of
Enchant. The mature approach they brought to this session is evident in both the lyrics and the arrangements, but the amateur production quality is distracting. "Don't Ruin the Memory" is the most memorable selection that showcases the band's tightness and harmonic sophistication. It's a shame they disbanded after this release, however keyboardist Todd Braverman went on to further explore the progressive genre with his band
Ad Infinitum, which includes many of the ideas explored here. A brief but memorable band that was not able to stay together long enough to fulfill their obvious potential. ~ Robert Taylor
