Gloria Lynne's exceptional vocal talents, showcasing her way with a ballad. While songs like "Indian Love Call" and "Bali Ha'I" aren't suited for her warm, engaging voice, most of the disc is devoted to songs like "Old Man River," "Stella By Starlight," "A Hundred Years from Today" and "Birth of the Blues," songs that show how sensitive, bluesy, ballsy and flat-out wonderful she could be. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine
