Ndam opens with acoustic guitar, and his voice and songs are more like the old folknik stream of G.G. Vickey than makossa. But the backings include guys like Patrick Bebey on keyboards, along with nice solo trumpet and flute, and each number builds to a considerable drive. It's different, as they say, and impressive.
