San Diego rapper
Mitchy Slick has been part of the underground hardcore scene for a while, before joining up with
Krondon,
Phil the Agony, and
Xzibit to form
Strong Arm Steady. The same year that group introduced itself to the world, 2005,
Mitchy released
Urban Survival Syndrome. It's dark, West Coast-fueled, bass-heavy gangsta rap that concerns itself with hustling and hanging out.
Mitchy Slick has never been the fastest MC, nor the wittiest or the most interesting, but he's capable and comfortable in his delivery, and though the production on
Urban Survival Syndrome is nothing spectacular, it does the trick, and does a pretty decent job of showing off the rapper's skills.
