Jay McShann's solo performance at the 1974 Montreux Jazz Festival still sounds fresh and lively over two decades later. He performs six mostly blues-based originals (including "Hootie Blues," "Confessin' The Blues" and "Yardbird Waltz"), adding an occasional vocal. Duke Ellington,
McShann performs respectful versions of
