On this two-disc release, most of the songs from
Moby’s downcast
Wait for Me get remix treatment. The mixes are, unsurprisingly, drastically different from the originals, geared for dancefloors, yet most of them do retain at least some of the emotional weight -- the melancholy and unease. The second disc is a DJ mix from
Moby himself, who admirably incorporates over half of the sonically varied tracks from disc one while adding a few other takes on
Wait for Me material. Following a Deluxe Edition of the original album that included ambient versions, this set might seem like overkill, but it should at least satisfy those who were displeased with all the chilling austerity. ~ Andy Kellman
