Just less than a dozen tracks of down-tempo, chilled-out techno, many of them given an odd vintage-'80s synth sound that make them likely candidates for the end titles of a John Hughes movie. Wamdue's Chris Udoh does a interesting spoken word piece on "The Moment," but these productions simply lack any kind of spark; most drift by without any conscious effort. The LP finally gets moving with the fourth track, "Flash Boy," a mid-tempo disco-in-a-dub-chamber number with some interesting effects, and "Whispers," a melancholy track that could've been a B-side for
Blondie.
When No One Is Watching We Are Invisible makes for pleasant comedown music, but these backgrounds are just a bit too nondescript for intensive listening. ~ John Bush
