Thomas & Sampson have crafted an odd and interesting debut. It's pretty indie rock with a slight psychedelic edge and rhythms that often sound like they were copped off a Wurlitzer preset. Then there's the vocals, always double-tracked, sometimes falsetto, and delivered with a singsongy inflection that brings to mind something like if
Ween were a member of the Elephant 6 collective. The songs have undeniable hooks, and many have really strong melodies, but the vocal delivery may not be to everyone's liking. Still, there's something about these songs that just might have them creeping back into your brain. ~ Sean Westergaard
