This D.C. duo of guitarists makes instrumental music so delightfully dreamy (this five-songer's title is apposite), it's like you're drifting off to slumberland with visions of sugarplums dancing in your head. There's enough delay/reverb in the shimmer that thoughts of
the Chameleons circa
Tony Fletcher and
the Sun & the Moon are in order, with spots of
Lost Patrol,
Curtain Society,
Black Swan Lane, and, most of all, fellow instrumentalists
Scenic and
Lanterna. Whereas
Scenic is like an actual moonwalk (not the
Michael Jackson variety), these tingling, spacey, tempting meditations are so quietly wintry fresh, it's like looking out at a fresh snowfall and watching the droplets drip off of icicles. Words like resplendent, glacial, or glistening could never do such wordless beauty justice.
