Emerald Web album, offering a more rudimentary version of their sound, which would evolve and crystallize somewhat over the next decade. As it stands, eerie thriller soundtrack-styled jams like "Ice Caves" or stargazing flights of fancy such as "Stargate" find the duo at a little rougher around the edges but no less exciting early phase of their creative process, pulling the best sounds out of home-recorded synth arpeggios and delay-coated flute ruminations. ~ Fred Thomas
