This single CD features
Louis Jordan & His Tympany 5 in 29 mostly concise performances that they recorded during 1940-1946 for World Broadcasting Transcriptions. These noncommercial performances, some of which are brief instrumentals and quite a few of which are songs that
Jordan never recorded for his regular records, are quite enjoyable. The music falls between swing and early R&B, and really shows off
Jordan's vocals and alto sax playing well. Unfortunately, the personnel is unidentified, but
Jordan tended to be most of the show anyway.
Louis Jordan fans will want these formerly rare performances.
