Conchita appears more self-assured, positive, and mature, trusting her songs will eventually stop being perceived as cheesy.
Zapatos Nuevos is actually an accomplished collection of the popular mainstream trend of catchy but confessional Spanish pop featuring a female vocalist (

el Sueño de Morfeo,
Rosana, etc.), split between upbeat tunes ("La Guapa de la Fiesta," "20 Días") and ballads ("Loca," "Vete").
