The analog synth-driven solo project of
Yukon Blonde frontman
Jeffrey Innes, Canadian indie electro-pop outfit
High Ends came to fruition in 2013 during a temporary break with his flagship band. Primarily a solo vehicle,
Innes managed to recruit a number of talented musician friends for the project, including
Louise Burns and
New Pornographer Kathryn Calder on backup vocals,
Gold & Youth's Jeff Mitchelmore on percussion, and
Ladyhawk's
Darcy Hancock on guitar.
Innes released the first single, "The Weight," under the moniker in May, 2014, with the Dine Alone-issued full-length
Super Class arriving later that October. ~ James Christopher Monger
