Janette Anne Dimech was born in England and spent most of her childhood in the United States, but she enjoyed a long and successful career as a singer in Spain, where her family settled as she was entering her teens. Using the stage name
Jeanette, she scored her first hit single in 1971, "Soy Rebelde," and was a frequent presence on the Spanish pop charts through the 1970s and '80s.
20 Éxitos Originales collects a number of her best-known tracks from her years recording for the Sony Music label. Selections include "Corazon de Poeta," "Toda la Noche Oliendo a Ti," "Amiga Mia," "Casita Blanca," and many more. ~ Mark Deming
