70's Megamix features snippets of 40 favorites (and not so favorites) from the decade, remade and remixed by a studio group called the Groovalistics. The result? Well, it's not all bad. The 'Listics do a pretty good job with
Kiss' "I Was Made for Lovin' You," the
Undertones' "Teenage Kicks," and
the Buggles' "Video Killed the Radio Star." But there's plenty of weak stuff here, too. Besides, most if not all of the tracks here are available on other collections, by the original artists, for just as competitive a price. Ultimately, it's this fact that makes
70's Megamix useless beyond kitsch factor. ~ Johnny Loftus
