Randy Granger handles both the Native American flutes and the drums on this collection of original Southwestern instrumental music in a traditional style. It is instrumental except for the opening track, "Za Zee Za Zu Zing," in which he sings of encountering a man looking for "a place called peace," and how he decided to help him find that place. This serves as an introduction to the rest of the disc, on which Granger presumably makes that search through his music. While tracks like "The Dog Star" and "Chaco Moon Meditation" have a contemplative New Age ambience, Granger takes a more assertive stance on "Ghost Dancers," employing a tribal drum sound to support his playing of a double-barreled flute, which sounds like two flutes, but actually finds him playing the melody on one side and a drone on the other. "Double-Barrel Train Wreck" is another uptempo tune that uses the instrument, in this case to re-create the sounds of a train. Granger concludes with "Ancestor's Ocean Voyage," on which he mixes ocean sounds with some quickly played notes on his flute. This is, thus, not just the sound of a lonely Native American flute suggesting the open expanses of New Mexico, but a varied collection of Native American music played in different moods.
