After three hyped singles during 1998, the
Silicone Soul duo returned in 2000 with a debut LP that definitely justifies the interest shown in one of Soma's hottest new acts. "Chic-O-Laa" and "The All Nite Dub" are sleek, driving, disco-informed movers, while "The Strip," "Have U Seen My Baby?," and "Mong the Merciless" are darker down-tempo numbers. There isn't a great deal of variety, but Greedie and Morrison prove themselves quite adept at the type of moody techno/house fusion accomplished by Soma heads Slam on their Headstates LP. Especially accomplished considering that only "Right on 4 tha Darkness" is a re-release from their 1998 singles work. ~ John Bush
