Scotti Brothers has issued three separate volumes of acid jazz, a popular dance genre of the late '80s and early '90s that combines elements of jazz, hip-hop, funk, and R&B. Like most dance music, it is primarily a singles medium, so compilations serve the music well; none of the featured songs were pop hits, yet almost every track has something to recommend it, whether it's the beat, vocals, or instrumentals.
