The first set of new material from the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based emo pioneers since breaking up shortly after 2002's Better Off Without Air, After the Earthquake finds
the Jazz June updating their signature sound with a nervy patina of fuzz-based indie rock. Produced by
Evan Weiss and issued via Top Shelf Records, the ten-track collection was preceded by the propulsive singles "Over Underground," "Short Changed," and "Edge of Space," the latter of which is loosely based on Austrian adventurer Felix Baumgartner's record-breaking 2012 skydive that dropped him 25 miles from space and broke the sound barrier. ~ James Christopher Monger
