"Who been gettin' the bread like Panera?"
Kid Ink asks during the uplifting pimp cut "Bossin' Up," but that's entirely rhetorical, because as the rest of this high-life EP displays, the answer just must be him. Who else could inject a little snarky spark into a
Drake-meets-
Tyga combination with such charm, and patch together an EP out of what's essentially three banging A-sides ("Bossin' Up" and the
Meek Mill and
Wale feature "Bad Ass," plus the heartbroken and booming "Was It Worth It") and three decent B-sides (the rest). Maybe these cuts are all extra polished and flossy compared to his earlier work, but otherwise the EP is thematically meh, acting as a bridge between albums or a simple somewhere for "Bad Ass" to land. ~ David Jeffries
