In all the fuss and furor -- and even controversy -- over
Amir Baghiri's similarities to
Steve Roach, folks have lost sight of
Baghiri's musical integrity and unique traits.
Autumn is a set of deep tribal desert ambience. And there are definite similarities to
Roach's tribal minimalism -- there is no need to explain that further. The unique features of this album far outweigh the other features.
Baghiri's minimalism is deep and poignant. His tribal and ethnic influences are wide. The mix is excellent. No style dominates. The vast atmospheres and ethnic overtones take this disc to deep zones.
Baghiri takes his listeners to the perpendicular universe. This is a sci-fi space music extravaganza, and a journey that repeatedly takes the listener from inner to outer space and back again. It is essential for fans of electro tribal and desert minimalism. ~ Jim Brenholts
