The album follows 2015's Ashes, which peaked at number six on the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart. Buoyed by previously released cuts like "Fractures," "Feel Good," and "Walking Away," Awake fared even better, peaking at number three. Showcased on Awake are guest appearances by Said the Sky, Kerli, Daya, and the single "Leaving."
