This 3" CD constitutes volume four in the Greek sound art label Antifrost's Extreme Sound Souvenirs series. Don't let that tag fool you: b.a may be challenging, but it is not an aural assault -- at least not all of it. Actually, it can be quite seductive. The first of these two tracks pairs a delicate shroud of soft digital noise (probably the residue of a sound source filtered to extremes) with a romantic four-chord pattern barely perceptible in the background. The two elements create a picture dipped in melancholy, similar in some regards to Robert Lippok's Open Close Open and Fennesz's Endless Summer. It accounts for three-quarters of the whole EP. The second presents a harsher side of Ilios, a noise construction that is interesting but disquieting after what preceded it.
