Often described as having been composed for Christian Ludwig Margrave of Brandenburg, the Brandeburg Concertos have, in fact, been written over a long period. This second disc of concertos is completed by the fourth Brandeburg recast to form a Harpsichord Concerto. Bach, a master of reusing previous compositions, adapted a Prelude and Fugue for organ and a Trio Sonata to form the charming Triple concerto for violin, flute, harpsichord and strings. (Naxos)
