Anita Cochran's debut album
Back to You is an audacious statement of purpose, or at least a thrilling display of talent.
Cochran wrote or co-wrote all but one of the album's ten songs and played lead guitar, along with contributing banjo, dobro and mandolin on other songs. Those instruments alone give a good idea of what kind of music she makes -- it's contemporary country with roots not only in honky tonk, but also in bluegrass. At times, the fusions are a little unfocused -- after all, this is a debut -- but for most of
