Stalwart French pop band
Tahiti 80 returned in 2014 with their sixth full-length,
Ballroom.
Ballroom was the first long-player from the band since 2011's
The Past, The Present and The Possible and continued with the high-gloss pop of that album while infusing more disco-derived elements than the grainy electronic rhythms of its predecessor. This lean toward hazy disco tendencies is heard immediately with the bouncing bass octaves and falsetto vocal hooks of album opener "Crush," as well as in the throwback synth tones and vocodered backing vocals of "Missing."
