The sophomore album from Glaswegian duo Crawford Tair and
Gregor Reid expands upon the pair's appropriately titled debut,
Your Introductory Record, with more widescreen beats. Perhaps surprising given their moniker, this 11-track sophomore outing takes a step away from being a second album of melancholia in favor of a more eclectic range encompassing mid-'90s Mo Wax reminiscence, sleazy funk, and the occasionally straight-up electro-tinged house groove. Despite their best efforts, however, upbeat tracks "Almost There" and "After Dark" sound out of place within the running order, with Tair and
Reid at their best when constructing minimal maudlin strollers -- the opening title track a luscious instrumental that softens the edges of an expressive piano refrain with Pablo Fyfe's guitar and the vocal phrasing of Sandra Butler.
