Trombonist
Bennie Green and tenor saxophonist
Jimmy Forrest make a potent team on this fine middle-of-the-road 1960 set. Performing three selections by their pianist
Sonny Clark, an obscurity, "Solitude," and "Sometimes I'm Happy,"
Green and
Forrest both display extroverted emotions and plenty of swinging ideas. Also heard from are bassist
George Tucker, drummer Al Dreares and
Joseph Gorgas on bongos. This Time set was last reissued by Bainbridge, although it was put out on CD in Japan. ~ Scott Yanow
