Start with a walloping post-punk backbeat with bear-teeth bass bite, dark, angry, moody, and head-beating. Add little playful guitar bits that accentuate the busting drone, and a singer who sounds a little like
Three Johns, a very British accent for Los Angelinos. This eight-song debut from
BOF (like
MDC, they'll probably keep changing the name but not the initials) will scare the living dickens out of you, but will also have you tapping your feet. Never heard of this inspired band before; do they make this wicked din outside of safe studios? Such controlled dementia is so rare we must have more. Pretty fierce, pretty great. ~ Jack Rabid, The Big Takeover
