Eric Lowen and
Dan Navarro returned in 1993, again working with producer
Jim Scott, with
Broken Moon. The results are pretty much a carbon copy of 1990's
Walking on a Wire. The melodies are pretty. The blend of the duo's vocals is engaging, if not exactly transcendent. And, the songs are virtually indistinguishable from one another.
Navarro's cousin,
Dave Navarro, again makes an appearance, playing guitar on "Pride and Hunger," and ex-
Bangle Susanna Hoffs adds a little spice with her vocals on "I'll Set You Free." Otherwise,
Broken Moon treads the same ground as the duo's previous release, which means you might find yourself humming along while the record is playing, but you probably won't remember a single track an hour later. ~ Tom Demalon
